Historical Overview[]
With the disbandment of the 105th Guards Vienna Airborne Division in 1979, 345th Independent VDV Regiment became a Independent formation serving under 40th Combined Arms Army, After the return from Afghanistan the regiment joined 104th Guards Airborne Division, This regiment was equipped with BMD series vehicles along with BTR-D and supported by 2s9 Nona.
