The AGM-65D Maverick is an ATGM (Air-To-Ground-Missile) put into service on the 30th of August, 1972. This precision guided missile used by NATO, is infrared guided and launched by multiple CAS (Close Air Support) and Ground Attack Aircraft. The Maverick is most effective against heavily armored targets, like the Russian T-72 , and is a fully "Stand-Off" Weapon (Fire and Forget).
