The United States of America (also called the United States, the U.S., the USA, America, and the States) is a federal constitutional republic comprising fifty states and a federal district. The country is situated mostly in central North America, where its forty-eight contiguous states and Washington, D.C., the capital district, lie between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. The state of Alaska is in the northwest of the continent, with Canada to the east and the Soviet Union to the west, across the Bering Strait.

In Wargame, the United States is a NATO faction which utilizes some of the most advanced and powerful units within NATO, if not overall. The main drawback to their units is that they are very expensive to produce.

Overview

Apart from the most recent Abrams, American tanks are neither the most heavily armored nor the fastest. With the best firing sights and on-board electronic systems, they are much more accurate than the majority of their allied or enemy equivalents, and mostly have better stabilizers than their PACT counterparts, which makes up for their disadvantage of not having Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs) like their PACT counterparts (Save for MBT-70). However, this advantage comes at a cost: American tanks are relatively expensive.

In AirLand Battle and Red Dragon, American Air Power is arguably the most powerful and varied in the Wargame series, challenged only by the Soviet Union. America's air arm combines the deadly Teen-Series air superiority and multirole fighters (the F-14, F-15, F-16, and F/A-18) with a strong strike compliment (including the A-6, F-111, and F-15E), the only stealth bomber available in Wargame (the F-117 Nighthawk), three SEAD aircraft, and the purpose-built A-10 tank hunter. America also has less expensive options, such as the F-4 Phantom II, A-4 Skyhawk, AV-8B Harrier II, and A-7E Corsair II, allowing the player to craft a mix of strong but expensive assets, as well as less expensive, more numerous ones. With the introduction of naval battles in Red Dragon, two of BLUFOR's anti-ship aircraft hail from America: the A-6E TRAM Intruder and the F/A-18E Super Hornet.
