The Mi-24K is a new recon helicopter for the Soviet Union that will appear in the unnamed DLC 2 for Wargame: AirLand Battle and in Wargame: Red Dragon

History[]

The Mil Mi-24 (Миль Ми-24, NATO reporting name: Hind) is a large helicopter gunship and attack helicopter and low-capacity troop transport with room for eight passengers. It is produced by Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant and operated since 1972 by the Soviet Air Force, its successors, and more than 30 other nations.

The Mi-24K (NATO reporting name: Hind-G2) is a variant made for artillery observation and reconnaissance with a big oblique camera in the passenger cabin along with another camera housing replacing the targeting systems. These Hind lost the capability to fire guided equipment but maintain combat capability with unguided weapon.

These were used in Army level separate combat and control helicopter squadron and separate combat and control helicopter regiment with two per each squadron.

Ingame[]

The Mi-24K possesses quite heavy firepower for a recon helicopter. With 80 rocket and a Yak-B machine gun, the recon Hind can not only help to recon the enemy, but also to suppress them. It is best to be used as a active recon helicopter and CV hunter if the opportunity presents. It's great at hunting special ops behind your line, obviously with the exception of SAS.
