The IRISZOOM is Eugen System's proprietary engine first used in R.U.S.E, a Ubisoft published game. The IRISZOOM allows the player to look at the battlefield at different levels and see all around, even at around twenty meters above the battlefield to extreme detail.
The first version of the IRISZOOM engine was implemented in R.U.S.E. The engine displays maps a hundred times larger than in traditional RTS games, which makes raises strategy to an unprecedented scale and gives deception, the main feature of R.U.S.E, a lot more depth.
The second version of the IRISZOOM engine was implemented in Wargame: European Escalation.
The third version of the engine was implemented in 2013's Wargame: AirLand Battle, which included several performance increases as well as higher detailed special effects and sound as well as rendering. It also adds verticality to maps in order to implement aircraft.
The 3rd generation of the IRISZOOM engine displays truly impressive contour maps that were directly rendered from satellite images. The huge maps - up to 150km² and simultaneously showing millions of objects - have gained in variety and realism. In an instantaneous transition, the engine's impressive zoom will enable you to dive directly from a satellite view to the heart of battles involving hundreds of units.
The fourth version of IRISZOOM is utilized in the upcoming Wargame: Red Dragon, with new features including more realistic and dynamic water physics and effects.
