The Jaguar GR.1 is a ground attack aircraft for the United Kingdom that first appeared in Wargame: AirLand Battle.
The SEPECAT Jaguar is a twin-engine, single seat, supersonic multi-role combat aircraft developed for the United Kingdom and France in a joint venture between Breguet and BAC. Originally planned as a trainer and tactical support aircraft, the Jaguar first flew as a prototype in 1968, and the United Kingdom received their first operational Jaguar GR.1 in 1974. Its high-set intakes and reinforced landing gear allow the type to take off from unfinished or rough runways, and the type features over-wing pylons for AIM-9 or Magic missiles. The Jaguar would perform rapid deployment, regional reinforcement, and the tactical nuclear mission in Royal Air Force arsenals.
The Jaguar GR.1 is an inexpensive light strike platform available to United Kingdom and NATO decks. It carries twin ADEN 30 cannons and two BL-755 anti-tank cluster bombs. It has no ECM, nor an air to air missile compliment, and is therefore vulnerable to attack by long range SAMs and AAMs, and enemy fighter aircraft in general. At 55 points per aircraft, its drawbacks are not prohibitive. The type does feature high speed, and can be brought to bear quickly on enemy armored columns to attack with its cluster bombs.
The Jaguar GR.1 in Wargame: Red Dragon is an inexpensive light strike platform available to United Kingdom and BLUFOR decks. It carries twin ADEN 30 cannons and two BL-755 anti-tank cluster bombs. It has been given ECM of moderate strength (20%), which improves its survivability against long range missiles. Still, it carries no aerial missile compliment, and as such is liable to be attacked by enemy air superiority fighters if it is not provided an escort.
