The Jeogockdae (Korean: 저격대, meaning "Sniper Corps ") is a North Korean marine shock infantry unit that initially appeared in Wargame: Red Dragon.

History[]

For a Shock Infantry, the quirky name "Sniper Corps/狙擊隊" may have originated from a reference to the literal translation of Russian "стрелок". This word stands for "infantry" in Russian and literally means "shooter", which is why English materials will use names such as "Rifle Divison".

At least in China and Japan, terms such as "狙击师团 (Sniper Divison)" and "東狙兵 (Eastern Sniper Troops)" have been used for a long time when talking about Soviet/Russian military. The same thing is likely to happen in North Korea.

Overview[]

For Red Dragons, another option for 25-point shock infantry is Lù Zhànduì '90. Due to Jeogockdae's relatively outdated rocket launchers and transports, there is no reason not to choose a more modern one.
