Kin-SAM Closed Arrow is a Japanese Anti-Aircraft Missile Jeep that first appeared in Wargame: Red Dragon.
History[]
Kin-SAM Closed Arrow was the mounting of Type 91 MANPAD on the HMV similar to the American M1097 Avenger. This system replaced the towed L-90 anti-aircraft gun and were used in the divisional and brigade air defense formation along with the air defense platoon of the Rapid Deployment Regiments.
Overview[]
The Kin-SAM Closed Arrow is a prototype IR anti-air unit available to Japan and Blue Dragons. It is similar to the M1097 Avenger in many ways, and fulfills the same role - a short-ranged, very fast wheeled anti-air unit. As with the Avenger, the range of the Kin-SAM is rather short, forcing them to be close to the front to be effective, and thus exposing them to damage that can easily kill them. However, the improved range of the Kin-SAM (2450m vs 2275m) means that they can more easily close the gap versus helicopters, although their anti-plane range is still quite short.
