The LVTP-7 is a transport vehicle for the United States that was first introduced in Wargame: AirLand Battle, it is only available to the Marine decks.

History[]

LVTP-7 is a fully tracked amphibious landing vehicle manufactured by U.S. Combat Systems (previously by United Defense, a former division of FMC Corporation) and FNSS Defence Systems. It replaced the LVTP-5 in 1972.

The LVTP-7 is used by U.S. Marine Corps Assault Amphibian Battalions to land the surface assault elements of the landing force and their equipment in a single lift from assault shipping during amphibious operations to inland objectives and to conduct mechanized operations and related combat support in subsequent mechanized operations ashore. Each four companies have four platoons of 10 LVTP-7 which can land the assault elements of the Marine battalion.

The LVTP-7 has a crew of three and can carry up to 25 troops. It is armed with a M85 machine gun which was originally intended to replace the M2 mounted in armored vehicles.

The LVTP-7 is also used by Infanteria de Marina of Argentina, Corpo de Fuzileiros Navais do Brasil, Esercito Italiano and Italian Navy, Republic of Korea Marine Corps, Republic of China Marine Corps, Spanish Marines and Royal Thai Marine Corps.
