The M35 is an American, Canadian, and South Korean (under the name K-511) supply truck.

History[]

The M35 family of trucks is a long-lived vehicle initially deployed by the United States Army, and subsequently utilized by many nations around the world. A truck in the 2½ ton weight class, it was one of many vehicles in U.S. military service to have been referred to as the "deuce and a half."

M35 are rated to carry 5,000 pounds (2,300 kg) off road or 10,000 pounds (4,500 kg) on roads.

The M35 family was introduced into the U.S. military to replace the World War II era GMC CCKW and Korean War Era M135 families cargo trucks in 1951 and being replaced by the Light Medium Tactical Vehicle starting in 1996.

The Canadian Army adopted license built versions of the M35 (and M36 variant) in 1982, built in Canada by Bombardier. As of 2014, the trucks, designated MLVW (Medium Logistics Vehicle, Wheeled) were still in service.

Overview[]

The M35 is a supply vehicle option available to both Canada and the United States. It is a 10-point, 500-supply option, making it the cheapest supply vehicle available to both factions, and also carries the smallest amount of supplies. It also has the most units per card, at 15 per card minimum. Unlike more expensive supply trucks, the M35 has fewer supply overall per card, but the higher number of trucks means that more units can be resupplied simultaneously, reducing the micro needed to handle a more high-value supply unit.
