The M53/59 Praga is a Czechoslovakian self-propelled anti aircraft artillery that was first introduced in Wargame: European Escalation.

History[]

PLDvK M53/59 Praga, often called "Ještěrka" (Lizard) is Czechoslovakian self-propelled anti air artillery. It was made in 1959 - 1962 by Praga. Its armament consists of double 30mm cannon, which had about 400-500 RPM (in game 200 RPM). It's placed on Praga V3S chassis with 10mm front armor and 6mm side armor, in game represented as 1 front and 1 side.

Each of the Tank and Motor Rifle Regiment has a Anti-aircraft Battery of two platoons of 6 M53/59 Praga. Some formations replaced a platoon of M53/59 Praga with 9K35 Strela-10.

The Praga M53/59 was used in the Yugoslav wars by the Bosnians, Croatians, Serbs, and others. It was also used in the Libyan Civil war by both Gaddafi's forces and the Libyan rebels.
