The Riflemen are the main infantry of the United States. The Riflemen employs the M16 service rifle, the LAW (Light Anti-Tank Weapon) and the M60 GPMG. Riflemen are the primary scouts, assault troops, and close combat forces available to the MAGTF.
History[]
In 1808, the United States Army created its first Rifle Regiment. During the War of 1812 three more Rifle Regiments were raised but disbanded after the war. The Rifle Regiment was disbanded in 1821. During the Civil War, Sharpshooter regiments were raised in the North with several companies being raised by individual states for their own regiments.
This unit represent the various infantry formations of the US Army ranging from the mechanized infantry mounted in Bradley IFVs or M113, Motorized Infantry of 9th Infantry and the various light formations mounted in trucks and helicopters.
Although the Year of the unit is marked as 1975, it still uses the base version of M72 from 1963 (replaced with A1 and A2 from 1971), and M60 can also be traced back to 1957. The strangest one is M16 (M16A1 in ALB): Its weapon icon is closer to M16A2, which design was finalized in 1982.
Overview[]
European Escalation[]
Riflemen maintain a cheap cost, high rate of fire, and high availability for their cost, their transports are mediocre. Their high rate of fire helps them a lot in anti-infantry and anti-heli roles, but they are slightly lacking in AT capability compared to the Pact's basic infantry forces.
