The Sea Harrier FA2 is a SEAD aircraft for the United Kingdom that first appeared in Wargame: Red Dragon.
The Sea Harrier FA2 is a single-engine, single-seat, Vertical/Short Takeoff and Landing (V/STOL) aircraft used by the Royal Navy. Introduced in 1993, the Sea Harrier FA2 featured a series of updates and changes from the FRS.1. The FA2 was equipped with the Pulse-Doppler Blue Vixen radar, which provided compatibility with the AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air, and Sea Eagle anti-ship missile. A new Pegasus Mk 106 engine was installed, improved ECM and new cockpit instrumentation was fitted, and the type featured increased air-to-air weapons capacity and improved range.
The Sea Harrier FA2 is a SEAD aircraft available to United Kingdom and BLUFOR decks in Wargame: Red Dragon. The type carries twin ADEN 30 cannons, two ALARM anti-radar missiles, and two AIM-9L Sidewinder missiles, which allows the type to engage enemy helicopters operating in its vicinity. The ALARM is accurate, powerful, and has good range. The major drawback of the FA2 is its lack of a long range air-to-air missile, leaving it vulnerable to attacks from enemy fighters, though its AIM-9L compliment provides a level of protection at close range. Its ECM received a bump in a patch to 40%, perhaps not ideal for a SEAD platform expressly meant to attack SAM sites, it is still better than the former 30%.
