The T-62D is a North Korean Main Battle Tank that appears in Wargame: Red Dragon.

History[]

North Korea ordered T-62 in two batches from the Soviet Union. 350 were ordered in 1970 with delivery in 1971 to 1975; The second batch of 150 was ordered in 1974 with delivery in 1976 to 1978. The Ch'ŏnma-ho series was the further development of T-62 design.

The designation "T-62D" is very strange as it does not match the model. In early NATO intelligence, it was the T-62M being referred as "T-62D"; While the Soviet T-62D was the model equipped with the "Drozd" APS. Both are different with this "very original" T-62 in terms of Year and appearance.

Due to the proximity of the stats, the "T-62D" here seems to represent the export model of T-62 obr. 1975, but that is not very reasonable for what was mentioned earlier.

Overview[]

The difference between T-62D and 35-point T-62 obr. 1975 is only that the former‘s main gun is slightly weaker (same with 20-point T-62): Obr. 1975 has a Range of 2100m, 45%/15% Accuracy/Stabilizer, and 13 AP Power.

Undoubtedly, the cost-effectiveness of the T-62D is higher. For cheap tanks, slightly stronger main guns do not cause a qualitative change, but lower cost means a larger quantity can be deployed. In many ways, the T-62D is best cheap tank of Red Dragons.
