The V-150 20mm is an United States Armored Recon that first introduced in Wargame: European Escalation. In Wargame: Red Dragon, V-150 20mm is the only vehicle that still served as Armored Recon in its series.
History[]
The V-150 Commando is an armored car of US origin. It was developed from late 1960s as a private venture by Cadillac Gage for export sales. Various nations acquired models with a two man turret armed with a non-stabilized 20mm Oerlikon 204 GK autocannon (not directly related to HS.820). Its secondary armaments are a coaxial and a top mounted 7.62mm MAG, but there have also been examples of modifying the latter to M60. The production of V-150 continued from 1971 to at least 1994.
The V-150 series never served in US military. The main recipient was Saudi Arabia, acquiring over 1500 for the army and national guard. Many other users are located in Asia, the Middle East and South America.
Overview[]
Red Dragon[]
For United States, there is also a LAV-25 Scout can be deployed with same 25 points. V-150 and LAV-25 Scout shares same stats in Optics and Stealth, with the former has 1 more Front Armor, while the latter has 20KPH more Speed. Obviously, Speed is more important for reconnaissance units.
In addition, the 25mm Bushmaster of LAV-25 Scout is significantly better than HS.820 in both Range (1750m) and Accuracy (50%/25%); Although the RoF is much lower (205RPM), but the ammo reserve of the V-150 is not enough to support firing for long.
