Site History

The Wargame: European Escalation Wiki was founded by R.U.S.E. Wiki administrator GhOsterider444 on July 25, 2011, after the official announcement of Wargame: European Escalation.

During this period, the wiki has had some minor changes with only few contributing users. This acts as somewhat the "Precambrian" era of the wiki.

From July to November, the number of articles on the Wargame Wiki has nearly doubled, from 26 pages to 44 pages.

Now how about someone who has the game actually does something to this wiki so that I can know more about it!

On February 15, the independent Wargame: European Escalation Community Wiki was created. This caused a major decrease in popularity of the Wikia-supported Wargame Wiki, leaving it dormant until March.

On March 23, EVA Database and R.U.S.E. Wiki contributor Privatejfx141 revived the wiki. On March 31, 2012, he was appointed bureaucrat by GhOsterider444, and then on April 16, 2012, he was promoted to administrator.

In April, the number of articles has overly been doubled, from 60 pages to 140 pages, along with the number of images overly quadrupled. This month also had the highest percentage of increase in edits - 523%, and the second most edits in a month - 549, according to Wikia Statistics.

On June 8, the Wargame Wiki implemented a new transparent wordmark.

In August, Wargame: AirLand Battle was announced as a sequel to Wargame: European Escalation. The wiki's title has been changed to the "Wargame: European Escalation and AirLand Battle Wiki", currently featuring up to date information on the sequel.

On October 13, the Wargame Wiki theme changed from the default carbon to a more blue theme in order to fit to Wargame's theme.

On January 16, a PM was sent on the official forums by Freki, a Focus Home Interactive employee, to Privatejfx141. Freki asked the admin if he would like to discuss about a potential official wiki with the upcoming Wargame: AirLand Battle.

The Wargame Wiki became popular since Wargame: AirLand Battles release on May 29, 2013. The number of articles increased from around 400 to over 500.

In August, 2013, Eugen Systems announced the 3rd Wargame: Wargame: Red Dragon. The wiki's title was changed to the "Wargame Wiki Database".

On October 14, 2013, Privatejfx141 announced a wiki network, named the Eugen Systems Database Network, whose goal is to connect all wikis about games developed by Eugen Systems: the Act of War Wiki, the R.U.S.E. Wiki, and the Wargame Wiki. October also marks the highest number of edits in a month - 597 edits according to Wikia Statistics.

On January 25, 2014, DrakFira, a prominent user of the Wargame Wiki, is promoted by Privatejfx141 to admin, thus making him the third administrator of the wiki.

From February to March, the Wargame Wiki reached over 900 pages of content and over 1300 images.

On March 11, 2014‎, Focus Home Interactive announces another RTS that will be developed after the release Wargame: Red Dragon, titled Act of Aggression. On that same day, the Act of Aggression Wiki was founded by Privatejfx141 and is the fourth wiki of the Eugen Systems Database Network.

On March 30, 2014, another prominent user named Trineroks was promoted by Privatejfx141 to admin, seating him as the fourth administrator of the wiki.

On April 16, 2015, Knightsword21, an active editor since September 30, 2014, was granted administrator privileges by Privatejfx141, seating him as the fifth administrator of the wiki.

What about the Wargame Community Wiki?

NOTE: The Wargame Community Wiki is now defunct, thus the link below no longer works.

The difference between this wiki and the independent Wargame Community Wiki is that this wiki aims for lore and in general aspects of Wargame: European Escalation, while the independent wiki aims for information about mostly tactics and strategy in the game (for example: guides for new players). There is no rivalry between this wiki and the independent wiki as both wikis have their own different editing styles. Copying information from the independent wiki is not encouraged and any existing copied information should be paraphrased.
