The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (abbreviated SFR Yugoslavia) was a socialist federal republic made up of six socialist republics: Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, and Slovenia, and two autonomous provinces: Kosovo and Vojvodina. The Yugoslav state existed from 1945 to its dissolution in 1992 amid the Yugoslav Wars.

In the ABLE ARCHER campaign in European Escalation, Yugoslavia somehow aligned itself with the Warsaw Pact, despite the Soviet Union's problematic relations with the latter, especially since the Tito–Stalin split.

Description[]

Even though a socialist country, Yugoslavia followed a different, independent socialistic route than Soviet Union and other Soviet satellite states.

Influenced by Yugoslavia's successful underground 2 factions guerilla movements (monarchists and communists) during the WW2, which allowed the partisans to liberate their country from Nazi Germany with an aid from Soviets.Country's military doctrine focuses on territorial defence, tasking the military to protect the possible invasions until Yugoslavian people's militia can start guerilla operations against occupying enemy.

Despite the cold relations between the Yugoslavia and Soviet Union in Stalin era, after his death and with new leader, Khrushchev, tensions was now thing of the past and Yugoslavia managed to obtain a great deal of equipment from the Warsaw pact, and made up for the rest using their own national arms industry, which was powerful enough to support the Yugoslavian economy. Yugoslavian forces, in addition to Soviet equipment, enter the combat with their own locally produced vehicles, including a decent air force, with some modified versions of the Warsaw Pact aircraft. The West also hoped to win over Yugoslavia and provided some equipment and technology.
